Biography

Professor Kang Feiyu has long been engaged in research on natural graphite and graphene, carbon materials for energy storage, and advanced batteries. He has promoted the industrialization process of applying natural graphite anodes and graphene to lithium-ion batteries; invented aqueous zinc-ion batteries; and established a strategy for constructing dielectric-coupled ceramic solid-state electrolytes, providing solutions for the industrialization of solid-state batteries. He has published over 500 papers as corresponding/first author in journals such as *Nat. Nanotechnol.* and *Adv. Mater.*, and was consecutively selected as a Clarivate Highly Cited Researcher from 2018 to 2023. He has authored the monograph *Deep Processing Technology and Application of Natural Graphite* and co-authored 7 Chinese and English works, including *Carbon-Based Nanomaterials for Energy Storage*. He has been granted 190 invention patents, 31 of which have been transferred and applied industrially. As the leading contributor, he has received the Second Prize of the National Technological Invention Award, the First Prize of the Natural Science Award from the Ministry of Education, the First Prize of the Natural Science Award of Guangdong Province, and the First Prize of the Technological Invention Award from the China Building Materials Academy.
