Biography

Huang Shaohua currently serves as Director of the Technical Committee of BYD New Materials Co., Ltd. BYD laid out its graphene application strategy early and along a pragmatic path: in 2017, it introduced graphene as a conductive agent into its power battery system, significantly improving the rate capability and energy performance of lithium-ion batteries. Since then, it has continued to advance along two routes—"graphene-based" and "graphene-enhanced"—with key focuses including building a graphene conductive network in its Blade Battery system to enhance fast-charging capability, leveraging graphene's high thermal conductivity to improve battery pack thermal management in support of higher-power charging, and exploring the application of graphene-enhanced conductive materials in improving motor efficiency and power density. BYD rarely uses the term "graphene battery" directly, instead emphasizing "graphene-based / graphene-enhanced," reflecting a rigorous technical approach, and has accumulated a considerable number of patents in graphene-related fields. As the technical lead of BYD's new materials division, Huang Shaohua is responsible for organizing R&D in new materials technology and overseeing technical roadmaps, driving the introduction and validation of graphene and other new materials in power batteries, electric drive systems, and vehicle thermal management. It should be noted that while the company's technical roadmaps and patent layouts are verifiable through public information, verifiable information on his personal resume, educational background, and individual honors through public channels is limited, and this profile refrains from speculative statements. He is scheduled to share engineering practices of graphene-enhanced materials in power batteries and thermal management for new energy vehicles at the conference.
